Subject: Winter in Australia.

Hello Ladies. We have winter here now, and lately it's been VERY cold, No snow here, that is very rare, but the townships of Kinglake and Marysville which just 4 months ago were burnt and blackened in the bushfires were last week covered in snow. Little kids were having a ball, throwing snow balls at each other. As mentioned my eldest son Peter lives in Kinglake. His dog Odin is crazy for chasing balls, and Peter made a snowball and threw it to him. Odin caught it in his mouth, and was astonished when it broke up!
Tina, sorry to hear you've had another set back with the discovery of another tumour, because it's so small, hopefully it will be treatable, also hope you are recovering from the flu now. Reading is good, I do a lot of that myself!
It's my grandson Ben;s 3rd birthday today. Unfortunately I can't see him as they are in Sydney 700 miles away, but I posted him abirthday gift, and hope the little fellow has a good birthday. I guess his Mom will give him a party. She's pretty big on birthday parties!
The cats are well, they sleep a lot in this cold weather.
Have a good week, thinking of you both.
Ellie.

I tried to get to Voy this mornig but they must have been working on it, it just would not show.
Ellie we should be having lots of warm weather but we are having cool days, lots and lots of rain, by watching the usa weather forcasts I think Phyllis is having the same kind of weather.I took Bo for a walk this morning when I thought the rain was going to be stopped for at least a half hour but he and I got soaked on our way home.He was not a happy doggie.
When your grandson gets older you will be able to visit via the computer.Camaras are getting so much cheaper now.Plus the phone cams.
I can just picture the cats sleeping through the colder weather-lol they can be such good company awake or asleep.
It must be strange for kids/dogs/cats to see snow for the first time. I can still picture Bo on his first sighting of snow.
I better go make supper, I am not hungry but Ralston is .
Have a good week.

Hi Ellie & Tina,

We are having the same weather you are having Tina. It is raining on and off for days and expect more of the same all week. At least it has been cool which is nice.

Ellie, A belated Happy Birthday to your grandson. I know it is difficult when they are so far away.

My daughter is still in the process of trying to find employment. She has already had 2 interviews for 2 different jobs. Unfortunately, she was not chosen for one and the other one has not returned her follow up calls so we believe that they are still searching. However, today she went for an interview with a doctor's office and they asked her if she would like to shadow 3 of their employees to see the actual position. They told her that they will call her in a week for a 2nd interview as the Human Service director was on vacation. I will let you know if she receives any good news.

I still go over to her house daily but not so early in the morning. She does not have a computer but uses mine to search on line and in the newspaper. There are very few jobs here in our area.

We are enjoying this very special time together and making the most of each day. We enjoy walks and carriage rides with Ashley. Kaitlyn continues to attend preschool because if she were to stop then she would lose her spot. Ashley also goes part time to the other sitter because she to would lose her spot. It would be difficult to find other child care and I cannot do more than 3 days once my daughter finds a job.

I can't believe that July is coming up so fast. My youngest sister will be celebrating her birthday on the 4th of July. We are having a party at my daughter's house to celebrate.

Wishing you both a good week and thinking of you both.
Please pat your dear pets for me.

Phyllis
