Dear Ellie,

I received an e-mail from Tina's family. I am copying it for you.

"Our beautiful mother�s long journey with cancer is over. She is at peace and free of pain.

All of her 7 children were gathered around her bed this evening when she was taken home to heaven. It was a beautiful experience these last few days as we shared so much love and closeness with mom and the whole family.

It is hard to imagine life without her. Mom left this world the same way she lived it, with love, caring and humor. We love you mom."

I wish I had your e-mail as I would like to keep in touch with you. I will continue to check your posting on this site.

My heart goes out to the family at this very difficult time.

I have been checking in every night to see if there was any more news from.. or about..Tina. Thank you for letting me know. I'm so glad she had a last happy Xmas with her family, her journey was long and painful and we've been with her through this column for most of it. She was always so bright and inspiring even when she wasn't well, and I'll remember her with affection as a real friend, even though we never met.
