bloke. radiohead is good, but, to be truthful, there has been much more powerful music. the stuff radiohead does is good but not one of the greatest of all time. just my pointless 2 cents.

I do think chen has some valid points. I do like the work of will and pajo, but i really feel like if they work with corgan, its just going to be a media blitz over hyped recorded that everyone will buy, then two months later will show up in the 'used' bins and the music store when everyone is bored with 'amazing ground breaking music".

really, the potential for these guys to make great music is definitely there, but i don't see it being utilized. to many conflicts of interests involved. its gonna be the record label verses the artists vs the buying public.

lets be realistic, the majority of people have no true 'ear', they don't understand music and its complexity. this may sound like a generalization but its based on my observation of lots of people.

music that is 'indie and/or elitist' is so because it only appeals to a few. pairing these artists with someone like corgan (who is mainstream) will then get non-indie people to listen to the music. i don't think that the record will change the listener so that the listener will understand it, i think that the music will have to be changed so that the listener (average teen USA) will comprehend it.

there is a lot of money behind this. and its a business. there for the rules of business follows. and if you are willing to back it with money, it means you plan on making money.

I'm sure there are gross assumptions and generalization in here. don't bother pointing them out to me or anyone else, save you time.
