Subject: I thought the local winners did other appearances in the area they represent. If everyone jumps ship after Miss NC, what is the point of locals?

In reply to: 's message, "Well, if the State people are pk releasing them, then the "No Farewell" clause is serving no purpose. It only serves to alienate sponsors. The girls probably don't care at all. Also, on another note.....if winning a local only serves as a ticket to State, why not just abolish local programs and enter State directly?" on 08:47:42 10/26/25 Sun

One reason that eliminating locals might not work is the tax laws. I don't think you can charge an entry fee to be a non-profit scholarship organization. That is another aspect that separates Miss America from Miss USA. Miss USA is a for profit organization and the organizers can charge the $1500 entry fee. (NT)No name07:25:59 10/27/25 Mon
Hailey was Top Ten at NC USA I believe. She is also the NC Poultry Festival queen, which turns into Miss Rose Hill, so she'll be competing at Miss NC. I saw on social media she was at an event representing her new title all weekend (NT)No name09:31:53 10/27/25 Mon
