Subject: I respectfully disagree. Caldwells talent will hold her back & CFs might be a maybe but she will have to be very consistent across the board. Also don’t forget the prelims coming up & who will most likely be in the mix. If there were no more prelims I might agree. You have at least 4 to 5 more Miss that will most definitely make Top 10 after winning their locals. Subject Author Date I agree in regard to Caldwell's talent and thought about that before posting. In my opinion, she should go back to dancing, I don't care for the HerStory thing, but just look at Gastonia last year who wound up on Top 10 with one. Logan seems to have some strength in other areas that could land her in Top 10. In my opinion, from what I've seen so far, this is actually shaping up to be a weak year. Lots of newbies with no experience. Where are the heavy hitters? Have they moved on or aged out? Many contestants are winning that did not place in a 4-5 contestant field and then winning one down the road the next week. These are the future contenders once they get more seasoned, but are not contenders this year. I agree it’s a “weaker” year. Purdue will be back. Hoping Mallard too. Gastonia got in because she has a stellar interview & was consistent on stage. Caldwell I think she is a lovely person and works very hard. But not top 10. Not many have aged out since the ages changed again. HWL will be top 10 Young will probably make it again. Pearson, Purdue and Kate White in top 10 if she wins Wilmington if not hopefully she will compete at another and who ever wins Wilmington will probably be top 10 as well. Rowdy is top 10 material if she comes back. The young lady that won Stanly will be one to watch. If Sara Beth or Keelie come back this year both could come back hot after last summer if they want it bad enough. I’m excited I expect to see Radar back and Mary Micheal for teen. I don't think I've ever seen a more polarizing contestant discussed on this board. Here is my opinion of Keelie. I first noticed this tall Amazon when she was Emerald Ridge Teen and thought she would eventually become Miss NC. I'm of the opinion that when she's at her peak performance, she is Miss America Top 5 potential. Yes, she was a little too sure of herself this past year as the returning runner up. I don't know her well, but she strikes me as super competitive. I do not see her competing this year. She still has a few years left. HP could very well get a NF talent award and depending on which group she lands in after lottery could determine her potential for top 10. There are several other vocalist who will most likely beat her in talent including two that haven’t won yet but they will. I consider Amazon a supreme compliment. It is used in the fashion industry to describe tall, statuesque, super models. It does not mean weight, at least to me. In regard to mentioning her weight, I'm not saying anything that multiple people have pointed out, and in the scheme of things, it was probably the list points in fitness that kept her out of the 10. I'm am speaking in terms of how a coach would coach an athlete. This was meant as constructive criticism and it was backed up with plenty of praise. Keelie knows what she needs to do, and I doubt her skin is that thin after competing so long. She just needs to make a few minor tweaks when she gets ready to come back.
