Subject: The son of perdition Part II

The son of perdition Part II

I want to show Isa. 14 also because it identifies Lucifer, who we all know is Satan. And because it has a definite tie to Ezk. 28 and "the son of perdition" of 2 Thess. 2:3

Isaiah 14.

{ verses 1-3. The People: Prophesy of Israels restoration. }

{ verses 4-8. The king: Oppressor ceased }

{ verses 9-11. The king. Taunt of the dead. }

{ verses 12- 15. The king indentified. Oppressor fallen. }

{ verses 16-20. The king. Taunt of the living. }

4
That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

( In other words, What happened?! How did this happen?!! In Habakkuk 2:5-6 we read of this taunting proverb, and notice the parallel to this chapter. )

5
The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

( wicked = "lawless ones" Hebrew [rasha] in the sense of restless activity of fallen nature. It refers to the activity of the impious and ungodly. In 2 Thess 2:3 the falling away is mentioned which will be the apostacy. )

6
He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.
7
The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

( Singing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb when victory over the lawless one is come. )

8
Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

( The fir tree and the cedars of Lebanon are symbolic of God's children. )

{verses 9-11. The king: Taunt of the dead }

9
Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

( "the dead" = Rephaim, who are the fallen angels. Compare Revelation 12.7-17 to this "coming" )

10
All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
11
Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

{verses 12-15. The king. Oppressor fallen. The king Identified. }

12
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

( Satan want's to be God. )

14
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Sound familier? "Who opposeth and exhalteth himself above all that is called God, or is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." [2 Thess. 2:4] . In the next verse, Paul goes on to say 5. "Remember ye not that when I was yet with you I told you these things". I have no doubt this is what Paul had told the people of Thessalonica. It's the exact same thing. "The son of perdition" is Lucifer, Satan, "that wicked one", the great dragon, that old serpent called the devil and Satan.

The subject continues in 2 Thess.2. I'll skip to verses 8-12.

8
"And then shall that wicked [one] be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9.
Whos coming is after the working of Satan with all powers and signs and lying wonders".

( I hope everyone notices that the coming of Jesus doesn't happen untill after Satan stands in the holy place, Jerusalem, claiming to be God. This has not come to pass yet. But it will. You can count on it. Satan comes first, as he is, claiming to be Messiah. Satan is supernatural, and angel, and always has been. That’s how he deceives the whole world. The people didn’t do their homework. They listened to precepts of man rather than the Word of God. )

10.
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; ( Why? ) because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should beleive a lie:
12
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

( The strong delusion is going to be Satan, disguised as an angel of light, cast back to this earth and claiming to be God. Claiming to be Messiah. )

{ Isaiah 14 continued. }
15
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

( Who will? Lucifer. Satan. )

( Compare Rev. 20.1-3,10. )

{verses 16-20. The King. Taunt of the living. }

16
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

( "man" Hebrew = "ish" )

17
That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

( The whole world followed him. He's got them bound and held captive because of false teachings in false churches. Like the false teaching of the Pope being the Antichrist. Good grief. You guys won't be decieved will you. :rolleyes: ( I’m referring to Johnny Favorite and others who believe this non-sense of the Pope as Antichrist. Stop lying to God's children and wake up. )

18
All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

( Buried with honour in comparison to this one. )

19
But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

( No glory or decent burial for him. He's cast out like an abominable branch because he's the abomination of desolation. This "sword" is the word of God. From 2 Thess.2:8, "the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy by the brightness of his coming". )

20
Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

( Satan slay's the people with peace and prosperity. Deception and lies. )

DiscipleAO Asked:
Who is the man of sin, Stan??

Answer:
Satan. Defacto. The conflict has always been between God and Satan. It won't be the "spirit of Satan" in some man. That wouldn't fool many, much less the whole world. That should be obvious.

1 Cor.10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for examples and they are written for our admonition ( as a warning to us ) upon whom the ends of the world are come

( God was kind enough to show us the warning of things to come. )

Now to the subject of Judas:

Zech. 11
10
And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

( Christ came forth with a new testament to complete the old. The people were free to re-marry after repentance of sin. )

11
And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

( The day He was crucified. The poor are the meek and the humble. They knew the Messiah was rejected. Prophesy fulfilled. )

12
And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

( This is of coarse what we know Judas sold him out for. The price of a slave. Who weighed out the thirty pieces of silver? It wasn’t Judas. It was the chief priest and the elders. The law givers. That’s why Christ would say “ The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not”. )

13
And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was priced at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

( What happens when you cast a pot to the ground? It shatters. Christ molds that pot back together for us. Judas cast the silver back at the priest. He knew Jesus was the Messiah and knew Christ had the power to bring in the Kingdom and probably thought he would. It didn’t go the way Judas thought it would. )

Matt. 26
14
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15
And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

( Let's make a deal. Nice bunch of religious folks. These are priest planning a murder. )

16.
And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

( Judas is selling out for money. )

20
Now when the even was come, He sat down with the twelve.
21
And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22
And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

( I find it interesting that all of them were worried it was one of them. )

23
And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
24
The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

( We will find out that Judas dies a horrible death for this. )

25
Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

( Think about that. Judas already had the money in his pocket. Judas wanted the money, he thought Christ would take care of the rest as we will now find out. )

Matthew 27
1
When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

( Thats premeditated murder. Nice bunch of religious folks. )

2
And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

3
Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

( Don’t overlook that. Judas didn’t think this would happen. Judas repented. This all came to pass by the Divine will of God so that scripture would be fulfilled. Do you think Christ didn’t forgive Judas when he repented? )

4
Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

( It didn’t go the way Judas thought it would. He’s hoping to reverse the situation, but in doing so it would make the “chief priest” look bad. Real bad. Judas just became a danger to them. So they said to him, What’s that got to do with us??? Were through with you Judas. )

5
And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

( Uh oh. He through it down hard. Were going to find out that Judas had a little help in “hanging himself” )

6
And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

( Like they really follow God’s law. )

7
And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

( A poor mans cemetary. How nice of them. )

8
Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.
9
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

( This was "spoken" by Jeremiah, I don’t believe it was written. )

10
And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

( Who appointed it? God did. )

Acts 1
16
Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

( Judas was divinely used by God to bring to pass what was written. )

17
For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

( He was part the 12 )

18
Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

( Think about this. Judas repented, he through the silver back at the priest when he found out they were going to kill Jesus. So who’s iniquity was it that bought the field? And does that sound like suicide? I don’t think so. He was sliced wide open so that all his guts poured out to the ground. Judas was murdered. He was a danger to the chief priest and we all know they had no problem with premeditated murder. I believe this is why Jesus said it would have been better that he was never born. Pretty gruesome death. )

19
And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

( This was Aramaic. )

20
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

So we go to Psalm 69:

Psalm 69
20
Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

( The apostles scattered when the Lord was being crucified. )

21
They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22
Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
23
Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
24
Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.

( The cup of wrath. Is David talking about Judas? No. He’s talking about those who crucified the Christ. )

25
Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.

( The scripture Peter gave in Acts 1. David is saying, Cut them off from the kingdom. )

26
For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
27
Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
28
Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
-----------

and his bishoprick let another take

The only place I know of this being in the Psalms is in 109.

8.
Let his days be few; let another take his office.

( If you know of another place this may have been written, please let me know. I'm not sure this is correct. )

The verse you gave in support of Judas being “the son of perdition” that Jesus spoke of.

Psalm 41
7
All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

( Judas didn’t hate Jesus. )

An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

( The chief priest were getting their toes stepped on by Christ. They called Jesus a lier for claiming to be the Son of God. )

9
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

( Yes, Judas sold Him out, but do you think for a moment that Christ didn’t know the intentions of Judas? Sometimes God want’s to see if we’re paying close attention. )

Something to think about.

The son of perdition that Christ spoke about in John 17:12, and Paul in 2 Thess.2 I believe are one in the same entity. Satan. Not Judas being one, and Antichrist ( i.e. some other man ) being the other.

May the Lord bless us with understanding.
