Well this kind of thing doesn't happen over night. You can't expect to see long term fan support in two years. But the first thing that has to happen is that when students are students they need to go to games. I know that may sound stupid but at CSF while CSF students get into games free, they don't go. What CSF needs to do is market the games to their own students. The main point being is if you didn't go to games as a student you sure as hell aren't going after graduation.

Not many people with no connection (alumni, parents are alum, etc etc) to CSF or LB or CSUN or UCI will become fans of those schools. OK I know there are some fans of those schools who aren't alums but for every one CSF fan who has no connection to CSF there are 100 UCLA or USC fans with no connection to those schools. The key to building long term support is your students and alums.

While the "lots of things to do" maybe an excuse it's true and a very hard thing to overcome.
