Subject: and now a request for plant information!

I find it's time to do some propigation. I have just murdured a succulent Callisia.
Here's how I did it: I took the cutting & placed in perlite. I waited til the next day to water it, assuming it needed to callus.
It damped off. Did I water too soon?
Should it callus before going into the perlite?
I want to take cuttings of my Pelargoniums and assume they should be treated as succulents.
