The rendering the league released looked like it was a gradient, but it’s definitely not. Just a poor rendering.

That was my suspicion. I have a hunch some of these XFL designs may change by the time they're actually used, so I'll revise accordingly, of course, if necessary.

I think I liked most of the 2020 XFL designs better than the 2023 designs 🤷

Totally agree! The original helmets were just fine. I don't see why they felt the need to change them up.

And now it looks like the Sea Dragons have a different center... "stripe".
