TRACS is Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. It is one of eight accrediting associations in the US that monitors all schools, colleges and universities for academic, financial, administrative and athletic suitability. All program that meets these requirements are considered as "countable opponents" in participating athletic events sanctioned by the NCAA, NAIA and NCCAA. Programs that do not meet the approval of the sanctioning sports bodies are placed on a list of countable and non-countable opponents that is maintained and updated as needed by each body. The accrediting organizations are:

*The Association for Biblical Higher Education (Canada & United States)
*The New England Association of Schools & Colleges
*The North Central Association of Colleges & Schools (Higher Learning Commission)
*The Northwest Commission on Colleges & Universities
*The Middle States Association of Colleges & Schools
*The Southern Association of Colleges & Schools
*The Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools
*The Western Association of Schools & Colleges

And they are strict. ACS nearly pulled its accreditation of Auburn in 2005/2006 after the Board of Trustees focused more on the mess involving Tommy Tuberville and Bobby Petrino and leaving the rest if the school in disarry.
