While I didn't quite come out and say it, yes I did imply that I thought having a campus baseball facility would help the program. Now, I haven't seen the newly renovated Billy Hebert Field, yet my feelings are that no matter how good the field is the student body at Pacific won't walk, bike, or drive the mere 1 mile to get to Billy Hebert Field. As far as options go to build an on campus facility there really isn't enough space to build one. Right now all the available space is reserved for the 49ers when they come to town. Tearing down Stagg Field (the football stadium) more than likely isn't an option since it's used by the 49ers, local high schools, and for local events i.e. the Promise Keepers, Band competitions, etc.

I don't mean to be one of those fans that demands a coach be fired, yet I think the greatest improvement that could be made to the Baseball program is to hire a new coach. I just knew too many baseball players, staff, and professors that didn't care for Coach Noble, which is usally acceptable if you are winning (right or wrong as it may be). He's just been too mediocre for too long.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really care about Pacific's baseball program. For the good of the conference however, Pacific needs to improve in baseball as much as say Fullerton or Riverside need to improve in Men's Basketball. Right now Pacific brings the conference down in baseball. As of right now I don't see the Athletic Department making the commitment to improve the program.

(For the context of everyone on this board there was a discussion on the Big West Board of rating your school's AD. I gave Lynn King a B-, and went on to say that if he wanted to improve his grade he needed to bring some resolution to the status of the "suspended" football program, improve the baseball program, and put together an organized student spirit section for Men's and Women's Basketball games. I hope this makes this discussion a little bit easier to understand.)

Here's the address to the Big West Board is anyone wanted check out some of the discussions.
