Subject: OSU Seriously Considering Thomason

Oregon State's athletic director apparently has Pacific's Bob Thomason in his top three finalists for the Beavers' head coaching opening. A decision is likely Wednesday, coincidenatlly the first day of the spring scholarship signing period. Thomason was quoted on Sunday in the main Oregon newspaper and he had some nice things to say about the OSU job. Hope he gets what he wants. Pacific would have a big problem replacing him. Status of verbals from Doubley and Newton would also be in question, if Thomason got the OSU job and thought they were Pac-10 material. OSU signed two or three people in the fall and has at least one scholarship remaining. Soph (to-be) guard Joe See from De La Salle High reportedly is transfering to Santa Clara or some other California school; that would be another scholarship. Doubley might be talked into something if Thomason leaves.

Stay tuned.

West Hills forward Forcheney will sign with Fullerton; ASU likely to get San Jose City's Jamal Hill; and Fullerton CC's Kevin Turner going to Texas A&M.
