Subject: I can't figure this team out

"The coaching staff needs to find a way to get Mike Hahn more shots. Something's painfully wrong with the game plan when your best post player is only getting five shots a game. I'm surprised that this has gone on all season."

Well, he only got five shot attempts tonight and he took full advantage of them 5-5. I don't understand this team. Why can't a senior laden team consistently execute throughout the season. While I'm happy we beat the Anteaters, their inconsistency has been frustrating. I looked at the season stats today and our frontcourt players who get the most minutes (Hahn, Preston, and Mills) only take a combined 14 shots per game. The Tigers don't have anyone that is the next coming of Olowakandi or Jason Williams for that matter, but 14 shots from a very decent frontline is not good. In contrast the Tigers are taking an average of 22 threes a game. Now we have some decent shooters but not like the team we had with Jacobsen, Jones, Boelter, Anders, and Mahaffey that could consistently come out and bury a high percentage of threes taken. It seems that when we distribute the ball and play some decent defense then we are a good team. When we take quick shots from the perimeter, don't involve the big men, and don't play with any intensity then we're a mediocre team. I'm confident that we will finish strong and make noise in the Big West Tournament. In reality this team should also be competing for the regular season championship, which can't be helped now, yet is frustrating nontheless.
