Had polio in 1954 at age 16, paralytic bulbar. Was diagnosed a few years later with severe Meniere's and placed on niacin (at that time had extreme dizziness to point where I was unable to walk). Now the ringing is so loud, and the dizziness is a problem (to a lesser degree), especially if I try to stand on crutches for any length of time. Have been given niacin again, to no avail and they tried Valium,(just knocked me out); but thank you, I honestly believe that it could be attributed to brain cell damage at the time of polio. Tests have not been very beneficial as to the cause in the recent years.
