She had watched the entirety of the situation play itself out from her standing position, in the backdrop of their environment, in the middle of the open field, away from the limelight or center stage. And where nothing that she could say or do, would be heard or seen. From her current position, amidst the dandelions and daffodils, she was and would continue to be of little use or influence. At first, upon hearing Seshanti’s scream of terror, she had been alarmed to say the least. But, after watching the scenario unfold in a multitude of what, from the filly’s point of view, seemed to be terrifying events, she realized that it was not nearly half as frightening as she what she had anticipated it to be. And that Seshanti was startled, as any foal or horse for that matter with enough sense in their head would be, and that she was in no real life threatening danger. For ‘the monster’ was not truly a monster after all, but a mild-natured stallion who apparently was new to Destiny Falls, and had not yet had the pleasure of meeting the acquaintance of Seshanti. As she herself had not. Nor had she had a chance to meet ‘the monster’, who by now must be weary of being referred to as ‘the monster’.

“My goodness, and what do we have here? I heard a scream and … Seshanti, is that your name? I can certainly see why you screamed, honey. He must have looked like quite a sight with his coat covered in twigs and branches, and leaves. And Dartanion, you remind me of my older brother. I used to have a brother too, you know. And he used to take good care of me just like your taking good care of your sister.”

She smiles kindly at both brother and sister before moving on to the stallion, and acknowledging him with a gentle exhalation of breath. But never, not once, does she completely disregard the foals. Instead, she manages the difficult task of creating and maintaining a fine border or transitional line between the two. And even when she is speaking to ‘the monster’, they remain a focal point of her conversation, and a landing perch for her wondering brown eyes from time to time.

“Hello…”
