I removed all the fuses, none were blown, and reinstalled them as tight as they would fit. The PO did have a phone installed (since removed) and an aftermarket cassette deck. I had a new cd receiver installed last year, but I had the electrical problems before that.

I will go back and re-check the fuses and look for any problems with the fuse block--i.e. fuses making only intermittent contact. Thanks for your help.
