Truth be told most times it's just wishful thinking on those high prices. I once knew a guy who bought a Lamborghini Countach (before the supercar craze in the late 80's) and swore in 5 years time it'd be worth $400,000. Well, we all know that never happened. If you were so inclined to torture yourself you can now pick one up for around 70 grand.
