Subject: What's it all worth?

I've been looking through some 'for sale' ads... And I've seen some pretty weird stuff.

An 86 S for $13,500?
An 83 for $9,000?
One 86 is a 5spd with only 43,000 miles on it, and that was going for $24,000!

The retail price of an 86 auto in good shape is $9,000.
An 83 auto should be around $4,000.
For an 86 5spd with 43,000 miles on it: $10,000.

and those are retail prices... which basically means that the only way you can tell that they are used is by the mileage and the lack of that 'new car smell'.
rivate party prices should be even lower... right?
like 7,000, 3,000, and 8,000, respectively...

Well, if I am right, why do I keep seeing so many cars demanding a premium even when they're high mileage cars in need of some TLC? Am I just all confused?
