Bush Lawyer
Analysis.

1) The offer is due to expire on the 15th of Feb 2002, NSW Government have stated that it is not their decision, to renew contract but Erg's a spokesman for ERG declined to comment.
Analysis---there are seven principles to a legally binding contract, if ERG choose to renegotiate it then they would possibly do so at more favourable terms to cover the added costs due to the delay. Unsure of the exact details of contract, I do not think the N.S.W. Government could renege as it would then lay its self open to possible further litigation, at any rate it is not Ergs fault that the contract is delayed.
It was stated sometime ago in the press (this is from memory) that Cubic did not want all of the contract, they stated they were happy with a 50/50 arrangement, Erg replied that it was incapable of altering it's software.

2) The solicitors for ERG said they were "ready and raring" to go, Cubic have stated they haven't "read all the facts" yet, The solicitors for ERG have replied, there is less to read than what you have stated there is.

3) The judge, has now set the next hearing down for the 18/2/2002. Which is a Monday.
