Subject: droid question

Ok, i've got a droid that is basically a screen on a band I usually wear on my wrist. One of the things I've programmed it for is to continually scan the area I'm in for new people (if there aren't alot) or if I'm in a populated area it scans for people taking up threatening positions around me. I can program it to 'recognize' allies or special enemies, and notify me. What radius could it scan around me? Would the radius get bigger if I attach it to a bigger power source?
