I think that putting the main boards (Hall, barracks, and infirmary) as links into the Colony Square is a great idea. It would make things a bit less confusing and also more 'realistic' in a sense.

I'm not so sure about the Outlands. It's true, it's not really active, but I still think it is a good idea to have an 'out of town' place that people can go to to get away from the colony. But this is just my opinion, so.. -Shrugs-
