Well.. your suggestions sound good to me. I don't want to constrict -everything- so I like it if you use your imaginations for the technologies as long as it is reasonable for the times.
Invent whatever you like that sounds futuristic... keeping mind the types of technology we have today for defenses and going from there. One hitch... whatever it is can't be invincible... there is always a way to disarm someone.. so whatever you invent, give it pros and cons.
Energy powered shielding... shock absorbing or power deflecting clothings.. things like that.. nothing that we have today but are feasible.. go whatever direction you like.
