(Not to be Argumenative but..) Even though this is a good bit in the future gunpowdered based weapons would be fairly effective. Seeing as though there is all this new stuff not much of the technology would be suited to handle the bullets of "old" because they haven't been used in so long. So theoretically the bullets would be effective to most armor corect. I mean ammo now is all energy so something realy fast and physical should be able to outmatch it. with a plasma sheild for instance it's what a thick peice of glass/plastic covered in densly layered condensed energy. A bullet with the force of a 50 cal of today's time period will begin to wear at that coating. As you said nothing is invincible, sure it would take several rounds but hte bullets would eventually crack through and "destroy" the sheild, now I may have your definition of their defenses wrong but with the amount of ammo we have and my manueverability I could easily take down some guards with it. Now I want to ask about a Psionic Katana. Psionic meaning that it vibrates at the speed of sound and instead of slicing the target it separates atoms. Now the "con" of this would be is it takes awile to charge and get to the speed necesary and some forms of condensed energy would slow it down as it passed through causing it to take another however long to recharge. Is this an exceptable weapon and as for the telepathy I'll go check that now...
