Sitting on a wooden bench still smiling Mirino hadn't left the block yet. Another squad car came screeching down the street to a halt. Two cops exited the car one ran to her back and the other to the overturned unit. "What happened!?" The officer yells.
"He's dead, he took one right in the forhead." A cop said as he pulled his head out of the vehicle and walked over to his partner. "Is she talking?" his partner shakes his head, "Well she must've seen something."
"Hey she's wearing colors.. Which department you with miss?" The other cop heads over to his car and pulls out the radio.
"We need a coroner down here on Fifty-fifth and Main. Also you guys had better send a tow and a maintenance crew." He let go of the radio as it slung back into the car. It let out static as a woman's voice went over.
"Roger that Lincoln-Ten-Thirty-Two coroner and maintenance crew." it ended the same way it started.
"You gotta come with us miss." The officer extended his hand. Mirino looked up at him, her face blank now, and took his palm to hers. He escorted her to the back seat. Mirino couldn't hear the policemen talking through the car, but she didn't care. She slid down and spread herself out on the leather seat. Slowly her eyes closed as she curled up and smiled.
