Subject: National League Guidelines: Default conditions

Over the weekend, the Pakuranga Canoe Club hosted meet had 2 teams default their meets.

Although the guidelines clearly state the penalty for the defaulting team (a 10 - 0 loss recorded on their stats for each game) the consequences for the team defaulted against are not so clear...
Now it seems we have to wait until the full round of National League is completed before knowing the final stats for the teams defaulted against.

Would it not seem logical to award the defaulted against team a 10 - 0 win? This makes sense to me, does it make sense to anyone else?

I realise the guidelines do not specify this as the outcome, but surely if all teams were consulted they could have few problems with this being done? It seems odd that the defaulting team is assured an outcome while the defaulted against team must wait until the end of the 12 week League.

Although it was disapointing to have two teams default, I still say good on them for entering teams and look forward to seeing them play at their next meet.
