I think Vish has raised an interesting topic.

Although, it could be argued that with several of the Regional reps to the board being players themselves, that this base is covered so to speak.

I strongly disagree with the above statement (mental image: puppy chews its own tail and yelps!)

Due to the current situation of a few doing the work of many, regional reps to the board already have rather large workloads. Yes, in some cases they do interact and actively seek opinions of players on pertinent topics BUT sadly, this is often haphazard and often it is only those players who have regular close contact with their reps whos opinions are gathered.
While this shows good intentions, inline with our associations aims to improve communication with its members,

This is not a negative on our regional reps, but rather illustrates their large workload which often means they simply do not have the time or the availability to take on the additional tasks of player repping.

A player rep should have a sole focus of representing the view of players. All players, not just the elite, or that reps mates.

As for cost: ie hideously expensive conference calls. It would be interesting to find facts on how the internet could be used to dramatically reduce the cost in this instance
Most modern PCs have soundcards, and great leaps have been made in recent times wrt increasing quality of sound, access and lowering cost.

In considering reinstalling player reps, I think it is important that appoint our ideal candidate, not just someone who wants to do the job.
