I just started Driver's Ed last week. Hate it. I really don't care about driving, and it's one of the most boring things I've ever done. Yes, I can do figure 8's. Wooooohooooo. An hour of figure eights (because I've never been behind the wheel in my life). OK, so to pass DE, you have to have X numbers of hours/miles of outside driving time. Oh goody. And you're supposed to have at least one log entry per week, and I went out this afternoon to get it. MY MOTHER IS INSANE! First of all, we never covered using the accelerator pedal that first day. We were just idlin' around the parking lot of a middle school. Exciting, huh? So then my mom hands me the keys this afternoon when I was gettin' into the passenger side and goes "What're ya doin'? You're gonna drive." Riiight. So I backed out slowly and took off at about 5 mph down the street. Since this is a neighborhood, most of the streets aren't lined. I was trying not to drive down the middle of the street, and every 10 seconds she's saying "Get over a little bit!".....there weren't even any cars parked alongside the road. Then when I turn, I don't slow down all that much, and she freaks out. I made the turn, didn't I?! Did I hit anyone or thing?! No. Did I cross the line? no. Just because I don't creep around the corner in a 25 mph area with 2 cars behind me is no reason to scream "SLOW DOWN!". Ugh. I think my bloodpressure went up just from today. I have 8 weeks of this.
