Here's a nice, warm and fuzzy thing to do. I have my students do this sometimes when they just need to sit back and think nice thoughts. We make lists of things that make us feel blessed. I saw it on Oprah. It works.

--I can name an indecently high number of children who love me deeply, personally, like a second mother.
--Because of my job I come in contact with about 500 teenagers a year. They like me. I like them. No matter what is going on in my life at any given time I have hundreds of "friends."
--Because of the schools I went to and the number of people I met in these places and the nature of this life where people move from school to school, there are sofas that welcome me in nearly every state in the country. Several outside the country as well.
--Because the children I love are not my financial responsibility, I have lots of nice toys that actually belong to me.
--I met you...and I am the richer for it. You, and the experiences we've all been through this year, have taught me to more deeply appreciate everything dear that I have. You've reminded me that I am loved.

I could go on like this for a while, but I think I'll give it a break. Anybody else want to jump in here?
