I'm not quite sure on this yet. Right now, I'd like to leave the raise dead and resurrection spells in. I think we might also want to run a test adventure (sort of a dungeon crawl) to see how easy (or hard) it would be to have a character die. I'm of the opinion that death should be rare in a D&D campaign, but possible.

Keep magic rare. Spellcasters shouldn't be common. A +1 sword should be an item to covet. And tracking down that elusive spell that you want should be a challenge. That being said, I wouldn't want to make it impossible for the players to aquire things.
In the case of the NPCs, they should be afraid of magic. None of the shopkeeps should have anything magical available beyond some healing potions (which can be said to be herbal, I suppose). As for healing, the healing kits actually work quite well, so tons of magic is not necessary.

Allow PvP in all locations. Although guards in a town setting should react poorly to it (I haven't looked to see if that can be scripted or not). I really don't want to add an artificial constraint like a non-PvP area.

>4) resting and time settings

This might be another issue that we might have to do a small test-run adventure to get a better feel for. Especially since I'd imagine that resting is important for the spellcasters so they can regain their spells. I know that in a table-top D&D game, in one session the party might need to rest several times or not at all. It can vary greatly.

If possible, limit the gold that shopkeeps have on them (if possible). I find it hilarous that, in the SP campagin, someone will give me 500 gold as a reward and say how they wish they had more to give me. Yet I can then sell them several thousand gold pieces worth of loot.
