There were some genuinely good drow in DRX. That gave Heron some hope that maybe his presence would actually make a difference. (QVI was hopeless, so he pretty much avoided those bad-asses hehe) But once he became undead, slowly all those high morals began to fade away and I had to start whacking back. Funny, Elg was really the only one to be able to take him down in one on one fights because he used magic. Everyone else just wanted to melee him and seeing as how I was buying up ALL the poisoned weapons in the DRX shops, I could usually hold my own against anything DRX fielded against me. Especially after Ultrin gave Heron some very fine lessons in fighting drow hehe

Actually, come to think of it, Heronimus was my favorite character to play in UO. I mean, after playing him for about a month or more just as a wandering ethicist and scholar (I seem to remember arguing the merits of "an eye for an eye" with Swiftwind my first time out with him!) coming to see what the "evil" drow were all about seemed natural enough. Then when his heart was eaten by Chica, I couldn't very well just go on living as before, so I had him bound to the crypt area (after all we really didn't have any good friendly neighbourhood undead about, other than Ghaleon *grins*). That's when the fun began I think. At the time I remember it was pretty easy to train a character up just around the crypts because of all the massive spawns there AND all those drow fighting with him always helped too.

It was just too bad that DRX couldn't take what they dished out. I remember quite a few of them whining after Heron downed them even though Heron never did any worse to them that they did to him. I also liked him because he had a definate "end" point.

Ermm . . . I ramble. Ahh the good ol' days . . .

yhessss dhead drowssss!!!
