Subject: Question about Rhade/Beka

 I used to watch the show quite a bit, but I got out of it for various reasons. Recently, though, I've started watching again, and I've seen most of the episodes for season 5 {I think it's season 5, anyway}.

Anyway, my question was this: During the latest episode, in which Beka and Rhade had to gather something from a sun to save Trance from a fever; Rhade was referring to Beka as 'Matriach' and said she was 'Queen Mother' of his race. Could someone explain that? Please?
