The things that I've always loved about the Paco tales are their whimsical and nonlinear structure. When the idea of turning it into a novel (or more likely, a novella) came along, the things that vexed me most were those very same characteristics.

A novel, for any publisher to even consider it for commercial print, has to follow a certain formula where structure is concerned. With Paco, the problems there are pretty huge. Too much chaos, too much running in a thousand directions. Too many small stories going on to tell a big story.

But as a book made up of a collection of short stories, that might be the ticket. Adapted and presented along the original premise as 'The Holy Writ', or something like that, it might be a winner.

Figuring that it would be catagorised as humor, most of those publications (in North America) run along the lines of 55-70K words, as a rough estimate. If we collected, say, 5 short stories of 10-15k words each, that would be a solid product, I'm thinking. The word count on what you have there, already, is about 8k words.

If we went that way, we'd have to do a lot of editing, chop out as much unnecessary detail as possible, and drive a time machine up the public's arses. Full of crossdressed Nazis.

I'm about a ten % finished with the initial draft of Godeater, now. At this rate, I'd be ready to hunker down and slam some Paco around with you by the summer, if you're keen.
