I turned 21 in 1971. I must have hit the "right to vote at 18" when I was 21. I did two things. I registered to vote on my birthday, and bought a six pack of beer. Not because I was excited about the beer, just because I could. I was NOT carded. Sucks to be able to pull out that license, and not be asked.

As far as the "great unwashed" are concerned, I'm absolutely sure that you've not read anything specifically identifying anybody called that in anything written by the founding fathers.

However, I do have one little bit of advice for the Democrats in this great Country. They can heed it or not, as they choose. If they want to run around the Country, trying to get every "unwashed" person to vote, for the love of God, teach them how.
