1. If the husband is not in the pictures, maybe he was behind the camera taking the photographs. When I am in family photographs, the picture is usually not in focus. If the they are professional photgraphs (rare) I usally tried to take my glasses off because the lenses were (still are) so thick and I detested the "fearless fly effect" of the thick lenses. If there was a conscious effort made by my spouse to keep me out of family pictures, I was too complacent to notice it.

2. If the wife doesn't include her husband in the list of gifts from God, this is most likely not an accidental oversight. It could be a slight of the husband that she fully intended to make.

3. Maybe the wife wants it known that the husband's contributions were not that helpful or important or crucial to her and here family's well being other than monetary support if he is the sole or primary breadwinner. I don't know if single mom is a badge of honor, I don't think it is a badge of honor as much as it is a sign of lots of struggles to keep all of the plates spinning simultaneously or if she was a juggler, to see how many balls she could keep in the air all at once. (I hope you remember the Ed Sullivan Show, Topo Gigio etc...)

4. A married man who doesn't wear a ring may be an electrician or a auto mechanic (ever catch your watch band or ring on a positive battery terminal?) or he may have gained weight in his formerly slim fingers.
A married woman who doesn't wear a ring may be an electrician or a auto mechanic (ever catch your watch band or ring on a positive battery terminal?) or she may have gained weight in her formerly slim fingers.
Also, both husbands and wives could have sinister reasons for not wearing wedding rings.
These are just my opinions.
