"If one walks into a married couple's home and in looking around, can find pictures of kids, parents, and wife, but not a picture of the husband; what would that mean?"

He's in the dog house big time.

"If a wife prepares a talk for her church in which she points to God's gifts to her and she mentions her parents, her grandparents, her kids, the pastor and the church, but there is no mention of her husband; what would that mean?"

He is sleeping in the guest room.

"Is it possible that some women have a huge need to be seen as "single moms" with all that implies in our culture? Is that now a badge of honor to the extent that it would spur her into a strange denial?"

Naw, they just want a little more respect for all (and in the majority of cases she does it all--outside job and the home business)she does. Sometime we look around and think we are doing it all anyway, so why not do it alone.

"If a married man doesn't wear a wedding ring, does that mean he is available? If a married woman wears no wedding ring, does it mean she isn't married?"

For him, no. More than likely he's never wore one or the one he was given he doesn't wear because of his job.

For her it's because of water weight gain, pregnancy, PMS and just about any hormonal change that swells her up to twice her normal size.

Can I help you with anything else???????????
