Subject: moderation is not censorship

Enforcing netiquette and removing off-topic postings is not called censorship, but moderation.

And you know very well that the admins are very reluctant to remove postings. Instead of having this silly follow-up, the admins could have simply removed the postings.

If you don't like the way rsqubf admins are handling the board, why don't you make your own board?

You know very well that this board is the least censored anti- or pro-UBF board that ever existed. Why don't you make a little experiment: Make a similar posting on any of the UBF websites: Make anonymously some sweeping statements against UBF and tell them they are unspiritual people and need to newly accept Jesus etc. Then wait how long your posting will survive.

I think it is libelous to accuse the admins of censorship and threatening who just try to maintain the board as a helpful place for meaningful discussions and information exchange.

>Does it matter if it is slightly off topic?

Yes, it matters. We don't need to discuss this over and over again.

Our netiquette says that we don't allow postings that are not meant to be part of a meaningful discussion, postings that contain only blind praise of UBF and shepherding/discipling practices without responding to any of the concrete issues that are the topic of this web forum.

Plus, the poster not only blindly praised the spirituality of UBF people, but also used ad hominem attacks against the critics, the typical UBF language we are tired to hear, accusing all critics of being unspiritual people:

- "you are full of bitterness and grudge in our heart"
- "you just sit down and complain"
- "you need to newly accept Jesus"
- "you need to examine your heart honestly before God, and ask his mercy"

So, what was the content of the posting? Anonymous sweeping praise of UBF and sweeping accusations against dropouts and critics.

If this board is spoiled and cluttered with such postings that do not respond to any of the concrete issues we have and instead only make sweeping statements, plus the follow-up noise that usually results from these kind of more or less troll-like postings, you won't find the meaningful information and discussions any more.

Also, I cannot follow your thinking if this forum contains postings like this one it is not boring, but if it contains meaningful discussions and information, then it is boring? Isn't it the other way around? Sweeping statements are boring. And actually I don't care whether its boring or not, I care much more whether it is truthful, meaningful and helpful.

The purpose of this board is not to entertain its readers. If you want entertainment, you can make your own board or use the offtopic board.

Yes I know we shouldn't be too hostile against first time UBF posters, but it makes sense to require even these people to observe a certain netiquette. If they are not willing to, it is obvious that a meaningfull discussion with them will not be possible anyway.

We sense very well and can discern when a first time UBF poster is honestly interested in finding the truth and entering meaningful discussions, and when he just wants to discharge his praise of UBF and grudge against UBF critics.

I don't know why I need to explain this over and over again.
