Dear BIC,

Your case in dating your future coworker unsupervised was very atypical in UBF. In my case I was only allowed to see my future wife if some UBF person was around. My future wife and I were not allowed to go to movies even after marriage because of all the bizarre UBF meetings we had to go to. Furthermore, my marriage was tied to Dan Pierce getting married to Birgit. I was told several times that Dan P. wasn't ready to get married so they were telling me even up to the morning I was to wed my wife that I wasn't going to get married. I said nothing to my relatives because it would have upset them even more. Finally, they decided that day that Dan P. was "spiritual" enough to marry Birgit. Evidently, you were not part of a controlling chapter like Chicago, Bonn or Cologne.

As Nick T. stated earlier, my wife was also not the first partner they wanted me to marry. They had at least 2 other girls lined up to marry me. You do not portray an accurate way people were introduced in Chicago. I saw with my own eyes how Little Sarah K. persuaded one woman to marry someone, she only know by name at the Friday meeting, the next day because it was her father's B-day. That marriage was also over in less than a week.

Most of the people I saw get married only got to know their future spouse with 2 weeks or less notice. Several people I know can verify this truth.
