Subject: Who deserves it? (WT #1)

{The backstage area is shown right after NoBody’s in-ring promo. The crowd can still be heard chanting his name as NoBody appears in the shot, walking towards his locker room. Backstage reporter Chris T. Jones rushes up to NoBody, a mic in hand.}

Chris: NoBody! NoBody! A quick word, please?

NoBody: Is that about that punk Ensign Pheonix trying to act tough by putting that official in the hospital?

Chris: No. It’s about your World Title Match at Shockwave. Are you at all worried that your performance will be affected because of your Tag Team Title match scheduled for earlier in the night?

NoBody: Chris, I understand you’re new here, so I’ll let that question slide. Have you ever seen me wrestle at Blaze, or at a pay-per-view? Sometimes I’m in the Main Event, sometimes I’m on earlier in the night, but the one thing that remains the same is that I am constantly…wanting…more!!! I could wrestle the very first match of the night, I could go for twenty minutes. I could be bloodied, battered, and bruised, and yet I’ll find myself wishing I had another match that night. I’ll find myself looking for any opportunity I can find to rush that ring and kick the hell out of whoever’s in it. Or, I could be in the Main Event. I could be waiting backstage the whole night, supposed to be sitting there, gathering myself for the big match, but instead I’m wishing for some brawl to break out so I can rush the ring and enter myself into the fray. Well, Chris, on June 27th, at Shockwave, I finally get what I’ve always wanted. I get MORE! Two matches, three opponents, all in one night! And to top it all off, there are two titles on the line. The two richest prizes in the business! The World Titles in both the singles and team rankings. And in just a few short weeks I will have them both! And to get them, I get the joyful task of kicking the hell out of three undeserving opponents.

Chris: Even though one of these opponents is the World Champion, and the co-holder of your Tag Team Titles, Phenom?

NoBody: You know, it shames me to say that Phenom is my partner and co-holder of the World Tag Team titles. He doesn’t deserve that title, and he certainly doesn’t deserve to be the man who holds the two top titles in the business. But it’s my fault that he is one-half of the World Tag Team Champions. Because when he was tagging with me in the Championship match, I carried his ass. And every time since that we’ve had to defend our titles, I’ve carried his ass. Hell, I was even the one who busted my ass to beat down Venom and The Icon at our Fatal Fourway match back in the day that gave Phenom the World Title. You see, I’ve basically given Phenom both of those titles through my hard work and my talent. He’s just made sure that he stayed in the background long enough until my ability allowed the titles to be his. In our tag matches, he rests up while I kick some ass, then he gets the pin. In that World Title match, he waited until I’d gone thirty minutes beating the hell out of two men before he sucker-punched me. But if Phenom thinks that standing by during our Tag Team match at Shockwave and letting me tire myself out will help him retain his World Title, he is sorely mistaken. I am a machine, Phenom. I am a destructive force. I will mop the floor with The Higher Powers one minute, and then I will burn you down to the ground in the next. It was me, my talent, my hard work that got you both of those titles in the first place, Phenom. Well, at Shockwave, it will again be my talent and my hard work that takes back what is rightfully mine!

{With that, NoBody walks off, leaving Chris T. Jones to stare after him.}
