You say that "it would make sense to do it right the first time". But your idea of what is"right" may differ from others. I personally feel that some VFD have overspent much as our other politicians have.
Most VFD have done very well for several decades without tax money. But, now that they have access to unlimited funds many have seriously overspent.
And if I remember the original posts between me and Jennifer, there was discussion of Prospect spending for a firehouse when there wasn't enough money to also fund a new school.
It is my opinion that the VFD may have looked after their own interests at the expense of the community.
I am not saying that anyone should do without proper equipment. But most of your justification has been merely inconveniences. And inconveniences can be dealt with.
Just MHO.
