Subject: New Assistant Men's Hockey Coach

The USCHO Message Board is reporting that Assistant UCONN coach Kyle Wallack is coming to HC. Here is one of the posts:

"I just read on USHR [U.S Hockey Report: www.ushr.com] that it is Kyle Wallack leaving. He is leaving to fill the spot at Holy Cross. How could UConn let there [sic] main recruiter go to a rival. Looks like bad news for the huskies. He brought in a tremendous class this past year helping the huskies get back to where they should be."

There is further speculation that this move is in anticipation of HC joining the ECAC.
From the UCONN Hockey site:

"Kyle Wallack will begin his second season as part of the Connecticut coaching staff. Wallack made the move from Quinnipiac where he spent three seasons.

While at Quinnipiac, Wallack was instrumental in recruiting and the development of the goaltenders. In his three years at Quinnipiac, Wallack helped coach the team to a 65-29-12 overall record and three MAAC Tournament berths, including the 2002 MAAC Championship in which the team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. He also served as an assistant coach at Nichols College and Delaware before arriving at Quinnipiac in 1999.

A native of West Hartford, Conn., Wallack earned a bachelor’s degree in movement and sport studies with a concentration in physical education and coaching from Springfield College in 1997. Wallack was a four-year starting goaltender for the Chiefs’ hockey squad, captaining the team as a senior in 1996-97.

Wallack also gained coaching experience with the Connecticut Junior Coyotes "A" Hockey Club as its goaltender coach from 1995-1997.

Sounds like a good hire.
