What the heck is up with 79%? It's STUPID!!! If the wings are in the green on the A-ICE ED2 page than the system is functioning normally and is hot enough to melt the Polar Ice cap. Someone should tell Marcel Martineau about the ridiculous amounts of fuel we burn flying around with spoilers out trying to keep the N2 in the green. It also leads to unstabilized approaches most of the time, as guys are not used to flying around on approach with so much thrust. I suggest turing on the A-Ice early, getting the wings and cowls hot, and monitoring the A-Ice page for green indications when the N2 is in the yellow arc. Save gas, stabilize your approach. It's just that easy! I flew from TOD down to mins the other day with the wings in the green and I was at idle most of the way. And guess what? I'm still here! :-)
