Hi guys.

Diddo here. I find roll mode to be the safer way to leave Nav mode when, for instance, you wish to set your course track for the approach. If roll mode is engaged with 5 degrees of bank or less, the aircraft will roll-off to zero bank automatically while on autopilot. It is a nice and steady mode, nothing unsafe about it in my little mind. Amongst other things, it would prevent engaging heading mode and inadvertently turning to an undesired heading if you forgot to center the heading bug.......
