The smile faded slowly as he turned down the radio and after a moment's silence he spoke. "You ever think we weren't there enough...for Lacey?" He questioned softly, his brow furrowed. "You know these people pay for everything for her, her school, her horse...everything she loves they've given her." And he hadn't been able to give her shit because he was off saving the world and neglecting his own flesh and blood.
