She didn't have any idea that he was out there until Chad attempted, not so smoothly, so direct her attention away from the dance floor. Of course that only piqued her interest and so she was shoving him aside so she could search the crowds to see what it was that her friend didn't want her to see. It didn't take her long to find him out there, and the feeling that swept through her was almost the most disheartening thing of all - she just didn't find herself all that surprised. He'd been out to see her a lot lately and it had been exciting and fun and sweet every time, no matter what they did, but still, she wasn't that shocked to be sitting here now watching him out there with some old cougar. It was just so typical of a guy like him - as much as she tried to convince herself that he wasn't the type of guy that everyone made him out to be, it seemed that she was wrong and everyone else was right. It wasn't like they were in a committed relationship though and it wasn't like that was even what she wanted - so she didn't even get why she felt so immediately sickened and even almost betrayed. Digging her cellphone out of her purse, she ignored Chad - who seemed to be waiting for her to react - and instead settled herself on a barstool, facing the floor, and sent a text message to Colden: You look good tonight... He hadn't answered when she called earlier - the loud music usually made that hard - but she raised her gaze again to find him once more to see if he would get her message. He looked drunk enough that she wasn't sure if he would even be able to read it, but she didn't care - she liked having the upper hand in a situation like this, because she was just too damn proud to simply walk away...
