(A flash of relief crossed her face at his words, though for some reason she felt a bit of disappointment that he had let the topic go so easily. She frowned a little as he kissed her forehead, wondering why her heart had fluttered a bit at the thought that he could have been jealous that she was dating someone else. But this was Deryk.. and he had always looked at her like a sister, he was just being protective, that was all.) Thanks. (She said and ran her hand over his arm lightly as he looked over at the group. Her eyes ran over Brian and she found herself comparing him to Deryk for the first time since they had started dating, and that was so unfair to Brian that she chastized herself.) Well, without you here, someone had to be social. (She shot back with a sly smile, picking up her drink and heading back towards the table and settling back into the booth beside Brian, who put his arm around her as soon as she was there in an automatic manner, not once stopping in his conversation.)

"I am the social one..." He teased back with a wink as he brought the beer he had ordered back over to the table with them, watching her carefully as she settled back in next to Brian. The three other guys noticed how Deryk kept looking to Brian but the man himself was oblivious to it, to caught up in his story and having his arm firmly around his girl. Deryk just nursed his beer, watching everyone with a thoughtful gaze until one of the guys roped him into talking about his time in New York and L.A. Deryk didn't like to brag, generally he didn't even like to talk about himself so he just kind of skimmed over things. Later he would talk to the guys about him putting out a solo cd to see if they would mind or be offended by it. He didn't like to hurt anyone's feelings so if they felt the least put out by it he wouldn't go for it even though it was a good opportunity for him personally...
