• He wasn't really feeling up to being out but he had gotten a call from his father that his finacee was out wandering around after he had kicked her out of work and he knew where she would be. He hated that his sickness affected her so much and hated that he had dragged her into life with a man who just couldn't seem to keep his health but he loved her way to much to try and keep them apart for her sake, as he had before in the past. He knew he couldn't make it without her, he would have no reason to fight against this sickness that was destroying his body if it wasn't for her. • As he settled down beside her, a soft sigh escaped her lips and a small smile lit her features. Her gaze slowly shifted from the water to look up at him and she scooted over a little on the bench so that she was tucked up right against him. "Hello husband." She spoke sweetly and leaned gently against him, her eyes lingering for a long moment before looking back out to the beach again. "It's pretty cold for you to be out here..." Her tone attempted scolding, but it was hard for her to be firm with him - she just couldn't do it. However, it was awfully cold out here for him and she wouldn't let him stay out here much longer before they headed in. She had planned on heading home soon anyway - she had just gotten distracted... • He lifted his hand so that she could settled beneath his arm and he could wrap his arm around her more comfortably. He dropped his lips to her temple, lingering there for a moment. "Dad said you were just loitering around work and he wasn't going to pay you for that." He murmured, teasing quietly as he looked back around at the ocean and the beach around them. "It is a little cold out." He stated absently, his eyes moving over her, his hand trailing over her shoulder. • She nestled up against his side and closed her eyes for a long moment as his lips touched her temple, a soft sigh escaping her lips. "Your dad was lying. I was trying to work and he kicked me out. I don't know how he can just toss his future daughter-in-law out on the street." She scoffed indignantly, but smiled a little anyway - Lucas had been her dad's best friend long before her father-in-law and she knew it wasn't like that. She really didn't need to be working right now, so close to the wedding and all, but she had just been glad for the distraction. "We should go in then... We can have the whole day just to ourselves. • "We don't have to go home just yet...we can just hang out around here...maybe go to the movies or something..." He felt bad, a beautiful young woman such as herself shouldn't be locked away inside so much, she should be out being seen and seeing things herself, out having fun. He could do those things for her when he was well and he tried to as much as he could it was just hard when he was sick and didn't feel like getting out of bed. • She didn't mind being inside all the time as long as he was there with her - it wasn't like she felt like she was missing out on things, but sometimes she felt bad that he was missing out on things - but that was to no fault of their own. She smiled up at him for a moment before nodding a little, giving his knee a teasing squeeze. "We can do a movie... Haven't been to one in ages. Fool around in the back row like teenagers..." She teased affectionately and reached up to kiss his cheek sweetly, her adoring smiled lingering for a long moment. • "Sounds like a good plan to me." He stated, shifting so he could finally brush his cool lips across hers before he drew back and smiled, ruffling his hand over her hair absently before he helped her up and sighed in contentment. "Love you, Mia.." he stated softly with a sweet smile on his lips before he wrapped his arm around her waist and headed down the boardwalk to the walk the short distance to the theater that was on the side of the boardwalk. • She stood slowly after him and pressed a kiss to his lips with a small smile. "Love you too, babe." She assured him and looped her arm around his waist as well for the short stroll to the movie theater. It was kind of nice to be out - it seemed like all they had been doing lately was stressing over wedding plans and work and getting everything in order. "You look good today..." She commented absently - he was definitely not feeling great, she knew, but he looked a little better today than other days when he couldn't even really get out of bed without getting sick. He knew he didn't look good, he had lost weight, as always, had his hair closely shaved to his head in case the chemo made it fall out again and his skin just had a gray pallor to it that wasn't exactly attractive. "You look stunning, as usual." She had been his best friend for so long in life he could never let her go from his side again, he'd tried it once, tried to leave so that she wouldn't have to deal with him up and dying on her but he was just to damn selfish to do that. • She smiled up at him for a moment and gave him a gentle squeeze - he still looked amazing to her, no matter anything else. Outside the theater, she wrapped both arms tightly around him as she looked up at their movie choices, lips pursing gently in thought. "Let's do something funny." She wasn't always a big comedy person, but something light-hearted seemed like a good idea for that day. She was in the mood to just relax and enjoy their day away from obligations. • He nodded a little, looking over the selection before he made his way with her to the ticketbooth and got two tickets to a comedy that was playing and then led the way into the theater that the movie was playing in. He made his way to a couple seats in a back corner, helping her get settled before he sat down himself. "You want popcorn, drink...anything?" He could go for some nacho's which was unusual because he usually didn't have much of an appetite but the smells were actually making his stomach growl and that was definately a good sign which caused a smile to go across his lips. • She followed him in wordlessly, just holding tight to his arm and contently playing his little girlfriend. Even now in the days of the empowered woman, she liked letting him do the 'man' things - like buy the tickets and lead the way and pick the seats and open the doors. She grinned slowly and looked over at him, a hand reaching out to rub his stomach affectionately. "Figures... Can't hardly get you to eat something that's good for you, but we get in here with all this junk and you're hungry... You want me to go get you something, love?" • "I'll get it..." He murmured with a smile, pressing a warm kiss to her forehead before he pulled back and ran a hand through her hair. "What do you want baby?" He questioned softly, his head cocked to the side as he gazed at her lovingly. She was so beautiful and she was going to be his wife...it was amazing to even think about, awed him even. "Anything you want..but you gotta hurry so I can be back in time for the previews." He stated with a grin, winking teasingly at her.
