Together there, in a shroud of frost
The mountain air began to pass
From every pane of weathered glass
And I held you closer than anyone would ever get

Though she had been pencilled in to work that day, Lucas had tossed her out - no ifs, ands, or buts about it. With the wedding date fast approaching and preparations in their final stages, and Austin's health not exactly great, she was getting pretty run down. Her future father-in-law would have none of it though - there was no need for her to be working in his opinion, but she was left wishing now that he had just let her stay. The busier she kept, the less time that she had to think about everything. So, with nothing to do right now she had gotten about as far as a bench along the boardwalk before stopping just to sit. It was clear that day, but cold, and she had the hood of her warm winter jacket pulled on to fight off the wintery ocean breeze. Her fingers were tucked under her legs, and she breathed out a slow sigh just to see the steam, a small, almost wistful smile touching her lips for a moment. She couldn't wait to be married to Austin - she wanted nothing more than to be his wife - but sometimes things felt almost tainted, and she couldn't help wishing that they could just be happy and carefree like the average soon-to-be-married couple their age. However things were though, she wouldn't trade him for anything, and the most important thing to her really was that she would be Mariah Laurence in just a few weeks.
