The Trinity Irish Dance Company will be holding auditions at this year’s Western and Mid Western U.S. Regional Championships. New company members will be considered for our 2006 spring tour, and beyond. We would like to take this opportunity to individually invite you to participate.

Ellen Gahl, Rehearsal Director, and several company members are conducting auditions at
Western Region:
Double Tree Hotel (835 Airport Blvd, Burlingame, CA 94010)
Less than a mile from the Hyatt.

Mid-Western Region:
Galbreath Pavilion at the Ohio theatre, 55 E. State St. Columbus, OH
(less than a mile from the Hyatt Regency).
We will be meeting, working out, and giving dancers an idea of what TIDC is all about. We may have immediate positions available but the main focus of these sessions is to get to know the dancers that are interested in the Trinity Irish Dance Company for the future.

Auditions in San Francisco
will be held on Saturday, November 19th from 7:00Pto 9:00P
or ½ hour after completion of results.

Auditions in Columbus
Friday, November 25, 8:00P to 10:00P
or ½ hour after completion of results
& Sunday, November 27, 11:00A to 1:30P.
We encourage all dancers to attend one of the auditions even if you have attended an audition in the past. We would like to take this opportunity to see you again and update our files. You should contact me via email at dmahoney04d@aol.com or call773.549.6135 ext. 15 and leave a message to confirm attendance or obtain more details. However, walk-ins are welcome so please encourage all of your friends that are interested in the company to attend as well.

While dancers under the age of 17 do not tour with the company, we are happy to begin a dialogue, and keep a file on dancers from 14 years and up. If you will not be attending this year’s Oireachtas you may call or email me about sending an audition video. I'm a beginner and was wondering on shoe choice and how the sizes run in that choice. I'm taking irish dance for fun. I started in character shoes but they hurt my feet and make my calves tense. We do mostly jigs and hard shoe..some soft shoe and I dont really want to buy 2 diff kinds of shoes. any suggestions? trstaf@aol.com

Is there anybody out there who can help? A group of talented young Irish Dancers are desperately looking for a new teacher. Their previous one closed their class at one week's notice.

Norfolk Irish Dancers undertake a range of classical soft shoe and heavy shoe dances. Despite not having a permanent teacher, they have managed to pull together some display routines and have recently perfomed to rapturous applause at the InterVarsity Folk Festival, UEA. Norwich Festival of European & Celtic Music & Dance and the Irish Society of East Anglia annual St Patrick's Day Dinner.

There are NO registered teachers in Norfolk or Suffolk; emails to 80 dance schools and the governing bodies produced not a single response

The Irish Society of East Anglia and parents have arranged displays, practices, premises etc etc
ALL we need now is an experienced dancer who can teach ;they do not have to be egistered teachers and will have to do no administration
. We feel very strongly about wanting this to continue and are fortunate that we have found a temporary teacher. who is off to university.

We need to find someone local to help teach the children. I
So is there an Irish Dancer out there willing to help ? Norfolk Irish Dancers would love to hear from them.

Hi, I just bought my DD her first solo. Now I need a bag to carry it in. Could I get some surgestions. I found two on line 1) Kelso "wedge" 2) Helen Doyle Irish dancing bags. I have no idea which is best or if there is some other one out there. Which is better, easier to carry, holds up the best, etc. Any help with this would be great! Thanks

Championship standard dress in excellent condition worn at the World Championship, European Championship, North American Nationals and Australian Championship in 2003. 9 months old. Gold raw silk dress with appliqué in three fabrics – black microdot, white velour microdot and cerise silk. The cerise silk appliqué is outlined in diamantes. The cape is cerise, with black, white and gold appliqué.
The lining is soft shiny material - gold dots on a black background, with an overall gold effect that is a different tone to the dress. Included are bloomers and two headpieces – one gold and one cerise with contrasting appliqué.

Measurements –
- waist – knee: 16.5” (42cm)
- neck – waist: 14.25” (36.5 cm)
- shoulder – wrist: 22” (56cm)
- shoulder – shoulder: 14.5” (37cm)
- waist – 29” (73.75cm)
- bust – 34” (86.5cm)

Help! I know someone asked recently where to get those cute socks & "shoes" in one but I can't find it anywhere! Do any of the vendors carry them? Sorry but due to a South Tyneside MBC ruling we are unable to erect direct signs to this weekend feis: McElvogue Trainer Festival of Irish Dancing, Brinkburn Comprehensive School, South Shields, Tyne & Wear. As such we are instead placing directions on this and assorted other message boards, please accept our apologies for this but the Council only advised this afternoon that they would not allow any signs in the borough.

From the A1 or A19 follow the signs for South Shields; these will lead you to the A194 Leam Lane and the main route into the town. Follow the A194 or signs for South Tyneside District Hospital and Accident Centre until you come to the Simonside roundabout, easy to spot the 1st roundabout with traffic lights on it. At the Simonside roundabout turn right onto the A1300 John Reid Road, again follow signs for the hospital.

Follow the A1300 John Reid Road past the 1st set of traffic lights, go over the 1st roundabout, at the 2nd roundabout (Big green Lease Direct garage on your left) turn left onto Boldon Lane, go past the garage, ambulance station etc, go across the 1st roundabout (by the pub) at the next roundabout turn right into Harton Lane (another pub!). Follow the road down ¼ of mile, over the roundabout, follow the road to the hospital.

2 options:
Option 1: Take the 1st right after the hospital and turn into McAnany Avenue, the school is on your left, follow the road to the 3rd set of gates on your left, this is a teachers car park, please feel free to park there for the feis.

Option 2: continue down Harton Lane past St. Wilfreds school on your left, on your right there is a turning for Brinkburn CA, turn into the lane leading to the CA, there are 2 car parks, again feel free to use them for the feis. If you come to yet another roundabout and another pub (The Grey Hen) you have passed your turning, go back on yourself and this time the CA entrance is on your left.

Entrance to the feis is via either the main school entrance or via the CA

Again sorry about not being able to put up signs (all printed and laminated) but we have to obey the ruling of the council.

The dress is made of sea green silk and a multi coloured pattern with beautiful gold cornelli stitching on the sleeves and the cape. There is a good amount of let down and
Room for seam expansion. The dress was professionally made in Sydney 2001.
