I don't know because most of my family are Christian and they have shown me a lot of love but luckily they are also very open minded and understanding about all religions and have let me explore many. I took your and others words to heart and have gone back to studying many religious texts though some of the things I find in the bible disgust me at the plausible ignorance of the reader such as saying you are to detest certain animals and if you touch there dead body then you will be unclean until night fall. Speaking from the Christian point of view aren't they "God's" creatures too? And so with that detesting them is to detest "God" "himself"I find a lot of things wrong in the bible about what people are and are not supposed to do but then again this is just my personal thoughts. Enclosing no I don't think I would have stayed with the church under any reasoning because while I was in the church I never really read the Bible and I know being who I am I would have seen problems or conflicting interests with the Bible and its teachings.
