Enclosing no I don't think I would have
>stayed with the church under any reasoning because
>while I was in the church I never really read the
>Bible and I know being who I am I would have seen
>problems or conflicting interests with the Bible and
>its teachings.

.............There are many things in the Old Testement that only apply to the ancient Israelites' level of understanding. I don't blame God for that, I blame the immaturity of men that would require them. Believe it or not, we still have some silly and outrageous laws that came about as a result of someone doing something to make them neccessary.

The whole point to me is that the Bible is the story of creation, from Adam and Eve until present day. It's how we came to believe that love is the greatest of all and that God desires mercy over sacrifice.

We were not born in that ancient era because we are more mature than that - obviously. But have enough courage to apply some of the principles in the New Testement, and there you would get your eyes opened. God would prove himself to you. Or her. Are you afraid of that?
