Perhaps Raven's busy with other things? *L* Just a thought. Some people are more strapped for time than others.

I agree.

I was just commenting about what you said. "it's not unlike the writing I do myself which comes from my interpretation of the Holy Bible" I think perhaps some readers of the bible interpret things in a different way than say another reader of the same bible. Just as people are different, so will be what they take from the text.

The only types of these people I have met call themselves Christian, so I wouldn't know about the other religions. I haven't met someone from another religion who acts in that manner. But that is just my experience. Unfortunately, I'm sure they're out there somewhere. And I don't think that anyone exactly attracts these people. We just have the misfortune of stumbling upon them. I wish that we only ran into people who would give back what they receive, kindness, love, etc. But the world, unfortuantely, just isn't that way all of the time.

That is what I believe, yes.

You'd have to speak with Raven about that.
>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Does he not state his purpose
>somewhere?
Purpose, yes. But when there's a debate, there are usually two sides. That lengthy website is just one side.
>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Jesus teaches the same thing.
I agree.

I can't speak for other Buddhists, just myself. *S*
But I think I understand what you were trying to say.
>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~These are already common to both. Is
>there anything more that Buddhist teachings could
>offer me that isn't already in the Bible?
Perhaps not. It depends really on what you've already taken from Christian teaching, and I have no way of knowing that. But there are some things that are in the Bible that shouldn't be, in my opinion. A couple of those are listed on that debate site. And I'd rather not discuss the rest because I'd rather not start an argument.

I'm not sure I like the tone I'm picking up from that last statement. But I'll pretend I didn't notice anything and move on. I'm sure there are Buddhists out there who believe that the Dalai Lama is "all that" Just as there are Christians who feel that Jesus is "all that". *L* You don't have to look at Buddhist belief. Like I said, the Dalai Lama writes for the benefit of all people. Not just Buddhists. And it really doesn't matter to me whether you choose to read it or not, I'm not going to take it personally. *S*
